Our Education Team has been working with Year 7/8 students from Waiouru School for the day, each Friday this term.
We wanted the students to
– have many of the experiences the museum offers, and
– develop their understanding in an Inquiry, and
– use a variety of digital tools to develop and record their thinking, and
– have fun.
The Inquiry was an investigation into what ‘service’ means, both for senior students in a school and more widely, what it means to the Army’s personnel. We teachers wanted to encourage the students to think critically and to understand that as seniors they are role models. We also wanted to make something for the school, as a gift of service.
