Authentic, brand new, Royal New Zealand Chaplains’ Department (RNZCD) patch.

Each unit in the New Zealand Army has its own unit patch, designed to be worn on the left sleeve. The insignia on the patch represents the unit the wearer is posted to.

The RNZCD patch is a stitch on (not velcro) patch in grey with the majority of the patch embroidered in black. The design consists of a brown taiaha in the position of whakatā (rest) crossing a shepherds crook. These are placed in front of a range of three mountains in black, representing Waiouru, the Army’s spiritual home. Behind runs a purple band of colour, with purple and black being the colours of RNZCD. Above are the words “Royal New Zealand” and below “Chaplains’ Department”.
