Authentic Royal New Zealand Nursing Corps (RNZNC) bi-metal pair of collar dogs, brand new.

Each corps has its own insignia for collar dogs, to be worn on the collar/lapel of Service Dress and Mess Kit jackets.

Sold as a pair, each collar dog features a golden St Edward’s Crown above a five pointed star (tip down) with a heraldic lamp embossed in the centre enclosed in a laurel wreath. Below is a silver scroll inscribed with “Royal NZ Nursing Corps”. Each is fitted on the reverse with 2 metal clutch pins.

The RNZNC collar dogs are miniature versions of the corps badge, which represents the connection of the RNZNC with both the nursing profession and the birth of military nursing. The golden star is designed after the Registered Nurse Medal, and the heraldic lamp represents the lamp carried by Florence Nightingale.
